Civil Rights & Wrongful CONVICTION Attorneys

We represent people who have been convicted of crimes they did not commit. We have secured or assisted with the exonerations of eight clients, who were unjustly incarcerated for 20 years on average. Our firm has also won numerous civil awards for wrongful imprisonment and other civil rights violations.

We vet our cases thoroughly and firmly believe in the innocence of everyone we represent. Once we take on a case, we handle it through all stages, from reinvestigation to post-conviction litigation, appeals, and civil lawsuits.

Exonerations require teamwork, and we often collaborate with other law firms, legal aid and innocence organizations, and conviction integrity units. Our mantra is to “leave no stone unturned” in the fight to free innocent people.

In addition to our work on individual cases, our firm advocates legislative reforms to expand the rights of wrongfully convicted New Yorkers.
